Biblical Usage
Boaz was a kinsman of Elimelech and a prominent man of Bethlehem. Ruth came to his field to glean, and Boaz instructed his reapers to allow her to gather safely and generously.
As a near kinsman, Boaz became involved in the redemption of Naomi’s family inheritance. He married Ruth and became the father of Obed, who became the father of Jesse.
