A piece of material, usually thick at one end and pointed at the other, used for splitting, separating, lifting, fastening, or holding something.
Biblical Usage
In Scripture, a wedge is specifically mentioned as an object taken by Achan from the spoil of Jericho. The KJV describes it as a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels.
The object appears in Achan’s confession together with a Babylonish garment and silver. Scripture does not describe another use of the wedge.
