Meaning
A person who receives or perceives a message or revelation from God.
Biblical Usage
In Scripture, a seer is a person associated with receiving divine revelation and communicating what was revealed. The term is used especially of prophets and other people through whom God made His will known.
Samuel was known as a seer, and Saul and his servant sought him for guidance. The Bible also uses the term for prophets and others who received visions or messages from God. In 1 Chronicles and 2 Chronicles, seers are mentioned in connection with prophetic ministry and instruction.
