A simple weapon consisting of a strap or similar device used to throw stones or other small objects.
Biblical Usage
In Scripture, the sling was used as a weapon by soldiers and shepherds. Trained slingers could throw stones accurately and were used in warfare.
David used a sling and a stone to kill Goliath. The Bible also records skilled slingers among the armies of Israel and Judah.
