A servant is a person who serves another person, household, master, or authority, often under an assigned duty or obligation.
Biblical Usage
In Scripture, a servant is a person who performs duties for another person, household, ruler, or master. Servants may perform domestic, agricultural, military, administrative, religious, or other forms of service.
The term is also used for people identified as servants of God. Moses, David, Joshua, and others are described in this way, while the New Testament also uses servant language in describing Christian service and Christ’s taking the form of a servant.
