Meaning
A threshingfloor is a prepared place or surface where harvested grain was threshed and separated from the stalk and chaff.
Biblical Usage
Threshingfloors were places where harvested grain was processed after reaping. The grain was spread out and threshed to separate it from the stalk and chaff, after which it could be winnowed.
Threshingfloors also appear in important historical and religious events. The threshingfloor of Araunah was purchased by David for an altar to the LORD and was later identified with the site of Solomon’s temple.
