Scripture

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Truth

God appoints seasons and times, so believers should seek His wisdom rather than allowing feelings alone to determine when to remain or move forward.

Insight

  • Life contains different seasons and responsibilities, and not every season continues indefinitely.
  • Being tired, frustrated, or dissatisfied with something is not by itself proof that it is time to leave.
  • Outgrowing something should be distinguished from temporary weariness, disappointment, or lack of discipline.
  • A wise transition considers both the reason for leaving and the responsibility of what comes next.
  • A new opportunity is not automatically evidence that God is directing a person to change course.
  • Moving forward wisely does not require despising the season or responsibility that came before.

Application

  • Seek God's wisdom before making major transitions.
  • Examine whether the desire to leave is caused by temporary emotion, weariness, or a genuine change in responsibility.
  • Consider what God has taught you through the present season before moving forward.
  • Make necessary transitions with wisdom, patience, and responsibility.
  • Do not allow fear of change or attachment to comfort to prevent obedience to God.
